On Saturday, 25 of the men's senior team participated in a team building day, which saw the players grouped into 5 teams of 5. Starting at the rugby club, the lads had to find their way up to Roundway Hill and complete a number of activities at checkpoints, using mental and physical skills throughout. After completing the activities, the lads congregated on the hill overlooking Heddington village before running down to the Ivy Inn where a BBQ and beers were being prepared.A hugely successful day - with Team 5 winning (congratulations to Rhys Harries, Martin Bills, Ryan Marsh, John Bramwell and Matt Strong). A big thank you to Gazza for arranging the activities, the coaches for their encouragement throughout and to the Ivy Inn Heddington for the superb hospitality after the event.
Former Bath Rugby Player and Devizes RFC VP raises money for a great causeTim Carson or 'Lord' Carson as he more popularly known as at Devizes Rugby Club completed a recent 700km bike ride to raise money for the Bath Rugby Foundation. The ride started in Cork in the South of Ireland right up to Giant's Causeway in the North - 700km covered over four and half days of cycling.
Lord Carson was one of six former Bath rugby players who completed the ride. Between the six of them they have three replacement hips, a couple of new knees and a multitide of operations - apparently our man Carson is in good nick and doesn't have any of these ailments or complaints!
A total of £42,838 has been raised thus far.
Great work Tim/Lord!
Devizes RFC is sad to report Graham 'Wally' Booth was admitted into Great Western Hospital on Thursday with septicemia and pneumonia. 'Wally' sadly passed away peacefully this morning.
Wally was a great character and supporter of the club and regularly attended VPs lunches and club events. His son, James, played at scrum half for the 1st XV several years ago and continues to play regularly for the club in the 2nd & 3rd XV. Wally will be missed by all.
Thoughts and prayers are with the Booth family at this time.

The teaching staff at Five Lanes Primary decided to use the Rugby World Cup as a theme of their learning this term.
In the planning they used the Core Values of Rugby to aid the lessons and activities.
The final day of term on a sunny afternoon the whole of Key Stage 2 took part in a Tag tournament supported by 4 coaches from Devizes RFC.
Over 50 children were split in to the 8 quarter final teams and in to two pools with the winners and runners up of the pools playing each other for a place in the World Cup Final.
The eventual winners were South Africa beating New Zealand by 5 tries to 4.
The real winners were the children as the enjoyment and participation by each and everyone of them was apparent. Between the pool and knockout stages the coaches discussed the values that the children had seen and how that made them feel.
Awards were presented for the best boy, girl and player of the day and the Winners and Runners up received medals.
However, the biggest award for the day went to the team who showed the best values throughout the day which went to Argentina.
